Samsung GT-S7550 as the most environmentally friendly mobile phone

Results Greenpeace Electronics Survey 2010 named the Samsung GT-S7550 or the Blue Earth as the most environmentally friendly mobile phone. The phone score 7.03 of a maximum score of 10 that can be given and outperformed other leading products.

One feature of this phone is its power efficiency. Greenpeace gave a score of 29.5 for power efficiency, which means only 0.5 points lower than the maximum score. Energy efficiency is based on Energy Star standards set by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The greater the value exceeds the minimum efficiency, more efficient electronic devices.

Samsung Blue Earth also has an environmentally friendly innovation with a solar panel that can be used to recharge the battery directly. In addition, the phone also declared free of hazardous materials, like PVC, BFRs, and Phtalate.

At first, this phone would be categorized as a smartphone. However, because it does not have an operating system, ultimately only be categorized as a mobile phone. With the surplus, this phone to beat Nokia and Motorola X3 A45-02 Eco.

Although not quite a smartphone, the Samsung Blue Earth is also equipped with WiFi and Google Apps for Gmail and Google Map. Additionally, the phone can also be used as a means of entertainment with a music player.
